Somewhere in my tea stash are bags of tea that I took from restaurants. When I order hot tea in restaurants, some places give me two teabags. I only use one, and ask for more hot water, so I can get as much out of the bag as I can. (I drink my tea black, with no additives.)

As some of you may know, there are some brands that are better than others. These brands need either honey and lemon, or cream and sugar. Or they should be used strictly for iced tea.

Some of my least favorite brands include Lipton, Salada, Wallingford, Superior, Maryland Club. The last three are national or regional coffee/tea services.

My favorites: Twinings, Brooke Bond PG Tips (great in the coffeemaker if I don't make it too strong), Tetley, Bigelow, Luzianne (iced tea or sun tea).

Same that the makers of the "Mrs. Tea" discontinued production several years ago. I have to use my coffeemaker instead, after I rinse it out and get rid of the coffee residue. For loose tea, I usually use 1 teaspoon of tea -- that's why they call it a teaspoon, right? -- for every 3 cups -- ANSI standard 6 oz. cups, that is -- of water.

It's cold and rainy out. It's the perfect time for a cup of tea.

So, what teas do you love or hate?

Darjeeling, if I have to drink tea. Or English breakfast tea.

Personally, I can blather for hours about coffee, though. Rather like a wine expert.

My tase in wine, though, is well known to be completely idiotic.
