Back from OVFF......

I made it back from Ohio Valley Filk Fest. I couldn't get crash space for Saturday night, and couldn't afford a room for myself. So I stayed for today only.

The good:
Had good conversations with suecochran, gorgeousgary, billroper, rms_butterfly, patoadam, celticferret, and Joe Ellis (NOLJ, AFAIK).

Meeting singlemaltsilk in the dealers' room.

Had dinner at Aladdin's Eatery with tigertoy, his mother Helen, robin_june, and Alan.

The Interfilk auction. (Loved cadhla's pumpkin-orange bathrobe...and the rest of her outfit!)

The not-so-good:
Having tummy trouble at the con. (Maybe it was something I ate at breakfast.)

Sitting in on a late-night conversation in the hall among filkers and not getting acknowledged. It wasn't my intention to intrude. But being on the outside looking in still hurts.

Not having enough time to chat with many of the filkers on my LJ-friends list, and those I know who are NOLJ. (Always a problem at cons.)

I didn't see her there. Nor did I expect to see her there.

I know at least two other people had food poisoning and/or stomach flu type symptoms. Sorry you got caught by the bug.

Did you also eat at the hotel for breakfast? Hm. I think I want to get a full tally of folks who got sick, if so...

Actually, no. I had brunch at a Bob Evans in Kettering, OH before I took off on the road. (I wanted the spinach and turkey omelet, but they were still out of spinach.)

I called myself looking for you, 'cause I knew you were only going to be there for the day on Saturday, but I never saw you. Story of my weekend... spent a lot of time with a lot of people and still managed to hardly see some people (including my own bandmates!) at all.

Bummer...

Yeah, I was hoping to see you at the con. I knew I wasn't going to sing or play, so the gear and the songbooks got left home.

That's typical for an OVFF, I'm sorry to say. Maybe they should extend it to Monday or Tuesday, but I doubt that would happen.

I'm sorry I missed you... I was so busy with Interfilk stuff (I'm glad you enjoyed the auction)... I think I saw you once, or maybe twice, but from across the room. *hug*
