I wouldn't call that "love".

Now that's just nutty.

And the diaper thing is just 12 shades of WTF.

I can see using them in the context of space travel. What I mean by it being "12 shades of WTF" is that she didn't want to have to make stops along the way. That is the action of a woman obsessed, not a woman in love. IMO, of course.

I think she was considering the deadline. She was trying to get to the airport by the time her "rival" landed so she could snag her in the parking lot. Don't want any pee stops for that! But on the other hand, who wants to sit in a wet diaper for up to 9 hours?

The worst IMO is that she is married with 3 kids. I can't imagine how her kids feel... Of course there's always the idea that she will claim 1) she has a substance abuse problem or 2) she's bipolar. If they'd let her out of jail, I'd bet she'd be in rehab today.

Also tragic is remember Florida is the "she's too pretty to go to prison" state, so the fact that they are keeping her while they up the charges on her suggests a cruel commentary on her looks, too.

So much for the government's and NASA' much vaunted mental health screening?

I knew a former Air Force pilot (cargo bird not fighters) who is the absolute definition of Attention Deficit Disorder. He was eventually grounded for concealing an asthma condition, and then given the heave-ho. Believe me, with certain personalities, consequences are a completely secondary (or even tertiary or quarternary) concern. And intelligience, talent, and capabilities sometimes can't overcome that.

I think you make a really good point. There's a fine line between having the kind of personality that will make you a big enough risk taker to want to fly jets, etc. and just absolute recklessness or premium distractibility--Shiny Thing, Gotta Go!
