Having recently seen a Charlie Brown special this evening, I can oncly conclude that the "love" -- or "like"-- in the world of Peanuts is highly dysfunctional and one-way. Charlie Brown will continue to pine for the little red-haired girl. Sally will continue to pine for her Sweet Babboo. Lucy will continue to pine for Schroeder. And Peppermint Patty and Marcie will still be interested in Chuck or Charles, respectively.

If this is supposed to be a role model for us, no wonder we're all messed up.

And that's why Snoopy and Woodstock make the best pair of friends EVAR!

I don't think any relationship among 10 year olds is functional. That's what horks me off about the new Kay jewelers commercial, the one with the 10 year old boy....Blah blah blah...

Maybe it's also that the Peanuts reflect a sort of cold-war era idealistic sensibility about kids' romantic relationships, i.e. that they're inevitably one sided and amount to nothing except a good punchline.

What, you'd rather have today's 10 year old "prosti-tots"?

LOL! Yeah, I guess. I mean, the series would be over, wouldn't it? That'd be no fun...
