The A-Z meme......
Apr. 6th, 2003 09:39 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Brought to me by several LJ friends.....
A - Act your age?
Sometimes. Depends on the situation and my mood. I'm very serious about what I do....but not necessarily how I do it!
B - Born on what day of the week?
Monday.
C - Chore you hate?
Dusting. I'm allergic to dust. I should wear a dust mask, but I haven't found one that's comfortable. Besides, why should I bother? It's only going to get dusty again!
D - Dad's name?
Joseph James.
E - Essential makeup item?
Deodorant.
F - Favorite actor?
Several...including Kevin Costner (found out he's a fraternity brother of mine and met him at a national convention), Patrick McGoohan, Harrison Ford, Patrick Stewart.
G - Gold or silver?
Both are nice. Can I "go for the bronze" here? No? Alrighty, then. Silver.
H - Hometown?
Tonawanda, NY.
I - Instruments you play?
Mostly keyboards and reeds. Specifically: clarinet and bass clarinet, alto sax, flute, recorder, tin whistle, organ, piano, synthesizers, assorted percussion.
J - Job title
Depends on who you ask. Some say I'm a consultant, some say I'm a web developer. I say I'm Engineering Web & IT Support. In other words...jack of all trades, master of none.
K - Kids?
One daughter.
L - Living arrangements?
So-called "traditional" -- I live with my wife and daughter in a condo.
M - Mum's name?
Julianna Rose.
N - Number of people you've slept with?
Assuming that we're using the euphemism form of "slept with", i.e. "boffed".....5.
O - Overnight hospital stays?
One: food poisoning in March of 2002.
P - Phobia?
Heights (acrophobia). When flying, I try to have a drink or two in the airport lounge before take-off.
Q - Quote you like?
Many.....Some from song lyrics, some from TV shows and movies. I like this one by Marianne Williamson: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us...." Nelson Mandela used it in his inauguration speech in 1994 and some people attribute it to him.
Here's the full version.
And this chestnut from Elbert Hubbard: "Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive."
R - Religious affiliation?
Recovering Catholic. Solitary Pagan.
S - Siblings?
One (older) sister.
T - Time you wake up?
Too early, in my opinion. Weekdays: 6:15 (although I like to lay in bed until 7). Weekends: Whenever I choose to wake up...or when my daughter chooses to wake up.
U - Unique habit?
Collecting bottle caps.
V - Vegetable you refuse to eat?
Brussels sprouts. For the time being, I am avoiding potatoes, turnips, uncooked broccoli, and uncooked cauliflower for health reasons.
W - Worst habit?
Picking at ingrown hairs and pimples.
X - X-rays you've had?
Teeth (several times), back, chest, right knee.
Y - Yummy food you make?
Many, although not recently. Meatloaf (hey, I think it's yummy!), lasagna, pastitio, chili, spaghetti.
Z - Zodiac Sign?
Cancer.
