The Oscars.....

mariasmom, it's her Super Bowl, so she watches it. I figure I can usually read the recap the following morning.
Plus I have my own beef with the Academy. The Academy seems to be focused on elevating the cinematic ahhht (say it with your nose in the air) and eschews "fun" movies (which includes most of the films in the SF/fantasy genre). Besides, a hockey game was on, and so was Van Helsing on TBS.
I entereddoeadear's annual Oscar Pool and got 6 out of 15 right. Not bad for someone who doesn't slavishly follow the industry.
[Updated 12:30 EST] I am happy that Scorsese *finally* won an Oscar, after all these years.
