1) LJ founder Brad Fitzpatrick (
bradfitz) is leaving the company. I guess it's not fun anymore.
2)
teddywolf posted an elegant article about making a difference and having one's voice heard.
While I'm not into slash-fic writing or art, I know people that are, and curtailing that goes against one's freedom of expression. How can one share such creative works?
On the other hand, I also realize that Six Apart is a business, and must do what they need to in order to protect their business interests. They've felt the lumps from Breastgate and the first Strikethrough.
I'm not ready to leave LJ yet, but if Six Apart continues with their censorship tactics, I may change my mind. And for those that do leave....I'll miss them.
I'm reminded of the poem:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Socialist.
