TW-3 for August 10-12, 2007......

poltr1Fri 8/10: Had a busy day at work. Becuase we're not upgrading the web front end software to J2EE at this time, I'm going to need to retrofit all the SQL queries in the Perl code to use the new database schema. Some tables were renamed, split off, or fields were renamed to match a new nomenclature. This needs to be done ASAP if not sooner, so I'll have my pedal to the metal for a few weeks. mooneflowerz, George, Pat, Rick, Dennis, and Richard (all NOLJ) decorating the location of the Bismarck masquerade, which I knew in advance I couldn't attend since I had a known schedule conflict.
Sat 8/11: Rode up to Columbus with my friend Gary for a New Warrior Staff Meeting. In a Jeep. With no top or doors. Talk about exhilirating! Then came back with him, and watched part of Gross Pointe Blank while him and his wife Yvonne worked on last-minute preparations for their annual house party. (This is one of my annual not-to-miss events.) I'd estimate there were about 30-40 of us there. There was lots of good conversations (and a few snubs, but if people don't want to talk to me, it's not my problem). Got to touch base with Jasper and Teagan after a few years.
Sun 8/12: Spent the afternoon with M, after giving her her birtday presents from her grandparents (my parents) and aunt (my sister). We went swiming at the local rec center, then went to McD's for a late lunch, then she played computer games for a couple hours before asking for ice cream. Watched the rest of Gross Pointe Blank.
