Yesterday, I found out from a co-worker that one of the property managers of my office building went to the nest of one of the Canada geese that nested on one of the islands in our parking lot, and drilled holes in the eggs.

My co-worker wants to leave nasty notes on the property manager's windshield.

Me, I'll hope for karmic retribution -- Harm None, the Rule of Three, and all that.

"All migratory birds, including Canada geese, are protected by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service under the authority of the Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act. State wildlife biologists caution that it is a violation of state and federal law to harm or destroy any migratory bird, their nest, or their eggs outside of regular hunting seasons without a permit from the Division of Wildlife."

Report the property manager.

Absolutely. I know when I worked at the mall, the mall had to receive a special order each season in order to take the eggs off the nest. They do allow such things, but you have to have a permit to do so. I realize that no one expected these birds to make the comeback that they have, but certainly a proper way of handling things is in order.

I have to agree with reporting the jackass. That's just awful. :-(
