What will this decade be remembered for?
Dec. 9th, 2009 10:32 pmIt's getting close to the end of the 2000s, the '00s, or whatever you want to call this decade. When we look back on this decade 20 years from now -- nostalgia usually looks back 20 years -- what items and fads will we remember and instantly think, "Oh, this decade!"
The only thing I can think of right now are those magnetic ribbons that people put on cars. There's got to be others.

Date: 2009-12-10 04:24 am (UTC)3000+sf McMansions occupied by couples without any kids. SUVs. 2+hr commutes to work. iPhones. iPods. Young people wearing baggy pants halfway down their hips.
I'm starting to think of "If I Had a Million Dollars" by Barenaked Ladies as the "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?" of Generations X & Y.

Improved! but required special cleansers and cleansing materials or else they deteriorated faster than the benchtops that they replaced, I've always wondered at the hidden costs and work associated with granite countertops.
