Remember those songs from earlier posts that I couldn't identify?
I've found Mystery Song #1. The phrase I should have been looking for was "I Want A Love" (or more accurately, "I Want Love"). "I Want Love" is by Sir Elton John, off of his "Songs From The West Coast" album.
Mystery Song #2 (with the trumpet fanfare at the end) still remains a mystery, until I can hear more of the song and lyrics.
Mystery Song #3 is most likely "Love Plus One" by Haircut 100. I'm 90% sure of this. I'll be 100% sure when I find a copy of Pelican West to listen to. Instead of "rain", the word they're singing is "ring". As in "Ring (ring) ring (ring) ring (ring) ring (ring)". Either I need to get my hearing checked or I should stop listening to background music in places that have cheap speakers (i.e. not JBL or Bose).
Mystery Song #4 is "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran. (Thanks and a tip of the hat to
filkerdave.) It's on their Greatest Hits CD.
