In a nutshell, here's what I've done the past few days......

Saturday 10/2: Attended the second annual Dayton Pagan Pride Day in Eastwood Park. I had a good time there, even though I was only there for a few hours and didn't purchase any of the crafts from the vendors. (Unemployment has tightened up the purse strings. :-( ) We arrived a little after noon and left a little after 4.

It was good to get some face time again with the folks I knew from the public rituals or from the local pagan email list. As always, it wasn't long enough.

I was a bit surprised to see my ex-girlfriend Zon there. Things are going well in her life right now, and I'm happy for her.

I also left flyers and a petition for the Pagan Headstone Campaign. When I left, there were about 20 signatures.

Sunday 10/3: Worked the drink booth at the Ohio RenFest with [livejournal.com profile] dark_kiss_angel. Saw lots of men in kilts, as it was Highland Fling weekend. Perhaps I should get one for myself. How about a Utilikilt? Also gave [livejournal.com profile] dark_kiss_angel a ride home afterward.

Monday 10/4: Got a call from my keepers at the old job. They said things were picking up and wanted to know what I was up to so they could try to place me. I mentioned the phone interview I had on 10/1. [Added at 8:40pm: Later that evening, I had dinner at Ha Ha Pizza with the men from my I-group, and went to see What The #$*! Do We Know?! at the Little Art Theatre. Interesting movie. I recogized Chris Franke and Patrick O'Hearn music in the soundtrack. More about the movie in a future entry.]

Tuesday 10/5: My plans for the day were interrupted when I got a call from my wife who told me she was at the hospital. She had a regular wellness appointment with her OB/GYN that morning, and had severe cramps. Yes, it was that time of the month, but these weren't typical menstrual cramps. So she was referred to the ER of the local hospital. They gave her a CAT scan, prodded her belly several times (ow!) and concluded that she had an umbilical hernia. So they put her into surgery, removed the fatty tissue that had penetrated the membrane (forgot what they called it), repaired the membrane, and sewed her up. She stayed overnight in the hospital, recovering, while I took care of all the daddy chores.

Wednesday 10/6: Took my wife home, where she is resting as comfortably as she can.

Glad she's okay. That was great timing, I guess.
