This weekend's pleasure driving......
Aug. 8th, 2002 01:09 amSaturday night, we went out for ice cream. Rebecca was craving some ice cream called "Denali", which they were serving at the local Hardee's. The ice cream was Hershey Ice Cream's "Denali Moose Tracks" flavor. (No, the brand has nothing to do with the chocolate of the same name.) While the name "Moose Tracks" is unappetizing to me -- it evokes an image of something else the moose left behind -- it looked like it had some yummy stuff in it.
Then we went for a little drive. (Those of you with your maps of southwest Ohio are welcome to follow along and retrace our route.) We started near the Dayton Mall, at the corner of state routes 741 and 725. We went south on route 741 to Red Lion (home of the 5-way intersection), where we took route 123 east through Lebanon (with a few detours and missed turns due to construction), through Morrow, to Blanchester, where we picked up route 28 north, to US 68 north to Wilmington, where we picked up route 73 west, and then through Waynesville to route 48 north to home. It was still a little muggy, but with the windows down and us going about 50 mph, it felt a little cooler.
