TW-3 for April 6-8, 2007....
Apr. 9th, 2007 12:44 amIt's been a while since I've posted a TW-3. Mostly becasuse there was either nothing significant to report, or the lack of comments on past TW-3 posts.
( Anyway, here's what I did this long weekend.... )

TW-3 for March 10-11, 2007.....
Mar. 11th, 2007 08:48 pmSat 3/10: No, I didn't spend it with the USS Bismarck celebrating their anniversary party, or at Glimmerglass House celebrating the life of Dave Alway aka
tnatj. Instead, I spent the day with Snakes Rising. In the afternoon, they had a rehearsal with visiting Middle Eastern drum/oud/bass artist Carmine at Natasha's place. At around 5, we broke for dinner, and went to Taste of the Mediterranean. They've changed their decor; it looks like a real restaurant on the inside now! (Meanwhile, Raymere and Laylia went to their hotel room to unwind and relax in the hot tub.) At around 6:30, the restaurant's usual performer showed up, and Carmine and Dave joined him on oud and doumbek (respectively).
athenawindsong and I wondered if they were going to be late for the gig at Kira's Oasis. (They weren't.) As always, it was a great show. Visiting dance artists Bellyqueen were also in attendance.
Sun 3/11: Had lunch with M at Golden Corral, and then took her bowling. When I wasn't chasing after her running around the alley, she bowled a 140 (with the help of raised gutters and the "roll rack", which allowed her to aim the ball and push). Went to Asia Cafe for dinner. Am now doing laundry as I write this.

TW-3 for January 12-14, 2007......
Jan. 14th, 2007 11:10 pmFri 1/12: Yet another slow day at work, until the afternoon, when I started getting feedback from our QA person. I now have enough work to keep me busy for the next couple of days. And I'd rather have these bugs or concerns found internally than by Airman Snafu once the code is in production. I can't do my own QA because I will find ways around things in order to get them to work. Dinner was General Tso's chicken from the local Chinese buffet restaurant.
Sat 1/13: Schlepped some unused stuff to the garage, where/when I'll have to address it at a later date. Cleaned the chandelier by the front door.
Spent the afternoon with M. We went to the library, and then to get her hair cut. The stylist found some nits on her, so she wouldn't proceed with a cut. (It must be some health department regulation.) So we went to Walgreens to get some Rid (or equivalent product), and then went to Burger King for lunch.
( And of course, Snakes Rising. )
Sun 1/14: Did some follow-up work on some items I had up for freecycling. Did some more cleaning in the dining room, and reviewing some tapes. I found one of the missing audio tapes (#32), in a laundry basket containing outgrown baby clothes. Took a nap while watching a football game was on. I also did some laundry. Had dinner with R and M and the Golden Dragon. (That's right -- I've had Chinese food for dinner three days in a row now.)

TW-3 for December 15-17, 2006......
Dec. 17th, 2006 08:36 pmFri 12/15: Went to a way-cool house concert/party featuring Snakes Rising and firespinners. And I got to do some drumming. What a way to bring in Yule!
Sat 12/16: Spent the morning running errands and having brunch at the Waffle House. Spent the afternoon with R and M. In the evening, went to the company's holiday dinner at Carvers. R had no interest in joining me, so I went alone. Had a very nice prime rib, with sherried mushrooms, a spinach salad, baked potato, a stuffed portabella mushroom for an appetizer, and and creme brulee for dessert. And the two gin and tonics definitely helped! After I got home, I spent a little more time on the holiday cards while watching "Deal or No Deal". ([Added 12/18 10:41] I get the game mechanics now. Pretty simple, really, with a focus on the suspense.) I'm sending out a grand total of 88 cards this year.
Sun 12/17: Continued work on the holiday cards. (Tell me again why I do this every year.) In the afternoon, I went to one of the local coven's by-invitation-only Yule ritual and potluck. I made chicken crescent casserole. The host now wants the recipe. R is still reviewing my draft of the newsletter, which will delay the mailing of half of my cards. In the meantime, I ran some long-needed diagnostics on the desktop computer.
[Added 12/18 10:41] Thanks to
athenawindsong for inviting me to Friday's and Sunday's events!
And now I'm noticing something wrong with the monitor. It's either the monitor or the card, but every place there's black or gray, there's horizontal ghosting, as if the entire line is grayed out.
