Tonight's Hour of the Wolf.....
Oct. 14th, 2005 04:49 am....started at 3 AM. I was sandwiched between M and Marcus. It's definitely a one cat night.
Got up to watch some TV. Saw the Weather Channel forcast (no rain today, yay!). Saw a woman on the Food Network wearing an outlandish outfit made of chocolate and walking down a runway, modeling the outfit. (Someone referred to it as "Audrey 3".) Saw the last 20 minutes of a History Channel documentary on the crash of Air Florida Flight 90. And saw a bunch of infomercials while I changed channels.
And as the mind goes off to play, it comes back with these nuggets:
Is there any scientific proof that intestinal cleansing works? One of the infomercials was hawking such a product (which can be found at dualactioncleanse.com). Hsu & Co. in Columbus has had a similar product in their stores. I'm hopeful but still skeptical. Of course the guy at quackwatch.com will be quick to dismiss these products.
Even at 4 AM they still can't show naughty bits. Spike TV was running a spot for the Girls Gone Wild series. And still they gotta show the word "censored" over the interesting parts. *sigh*
The TV test pattern -- remember those? -- has gone the way of the dodo, the slide rule, and the 8-track tape. Instead of shutting down the transmitter equipment (and closing the broadcast day with a playing of the national anthem), stations are selling the airtime to infomercial producers. There are times I'd rather be watching the "snow" and listening to the white (or pink) noise.
