Songs for a cold winter's night........

This evening is chilly. (Speaking of chilly, one of our local weathermen likes to say "chilly" a lot. Is he getting a kickback from Skyline or Gold Star?)

I can imagine myself in a cabin, with little or no electricity, sitting on a sofa in front of a nice warm woodburning fireplace, eating nabeyaki udon, drinking Lapsang Souchong tea or hot mulled cider or wine, and snuggling with my sweetie. Or wanting to snuggle. :-(

The clothing? Sweats and/or fleece. Wool socks. Silk thermal underwear.

And the music? What would I want to be listening to? Definitely not Kenny G!
- Genesis, "Undertow" and "Snowman" (both from side 1 of And Then There Were Three)
- Joni Mitchell, "The Wolf That Lives In Lindsey" (from Mingus)

What other tunes should I add to the player? What's good to listen to on a cold winter's night?

I don't know your tastes well, but in such a situation I'd be playing something warm. Jimmy Buffett's Banana Wind album comes to mind. or Maybe Barometer Soup.

On the musical smorgasboard, I like nearly everything, with the exceptions of gangsta rap, preachy white gospel, bluegrass with vocals, and country.

I'd probably go with Buffett if there were more people in the cabin, or if I were more into the party mood.

Buffett is known for his party songs, but the two albums I list are a lot mellower than his well known songs.
