In my never-ending quest to sample new and unusual soft drinks, I came across two new products by the Coca-Cola Company.

The first is Coca-Cola Zero. I believe this is Coke's way of appeasing those who like the idea of Diet Coke but can't stand the bitter taste. It may also be Coke's way of competing with Pepsi One, as if zero is better than one. It tastes very sweet, almost as sweet as real Coke. But the ingredients label shows that the sweeteners used are the evil aspartame and acesulfame potassium.

The second is Diet Coke Plus. This is Diet Coke with added vitamins and minerals. Upon closer examination of the label, it shows the presence of some of the B-complex vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, B12) and zinc. But aren't B-complex vitamins soluble in water? I didn't notice any difference in taste. But if I wanted a drink with B-complex vitamins, I'd reach for a beer. (But not during working hours.)

I think I'll stick to my Diet Coke with Splenda.

Yeah when I called it "pop" I got all kinds of jokes and such thrown at me. I didn't like that too much honestly.

Diet Pepsi Max is fun. Zero calorie, twice the caffeine, plus ginsing.

Though, my prefered drink is Pepsi One, because I prefer sucrolose to aspartame, and aspartame is a migraine trigger for [livejournal.com profile] kitanzi; she doesn't drink cola often, but when she wants some, I prefer to have some in the house she can drink.

I may live in the heart of Coca-Cola country, but I'm not from here originally. I was born and raised in North Carolina, and honestly prefer Royal Crown to either, but RC's diet drinks are horrid. Diet Coke with Splenda is very hard to find here, for some reason. But Pepsi One does me fine.

Oh dude, if you ever get the chance, go to the Coca Cola museum in Atlanta! There is an area where you can sample all of the soft drinks they bottle for other countries, and OMG there are some FUNKY flavors out there! Some are really good, some are just weird. You'd love it!

I always call it "the sugar water museum."

Did it once, with some friends who were touristing. It was amusing. My favourite part was the room where they had all the old coke commercials on a loop.
