Today it was cold and overcast. There was no rain, but it felt like it would rain any minute. I hate days like today. It's a good day to stay in bed.

After work was done, I picked up M from daycare and we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Asia Cafe. She had fried pot stickers (skins only) and some chicken lo mein. I had a couple of soft rolls and some Vietnamese soup. (This is the right weather for a meal-sized bowl of soup.) Then we went to Cold Stone Creamery for some ice cream and to meet up with R.

And then, after I got home, I lay in bed and fell asleep for a couple of hours.

Now I'm downloading a boatload of Windows XP security updates. (At last count, there were 31.) I may be up for a while. Some of these are up to 5 Mb in size. I really hope Microsoft is planning to release a Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, because there have been so many patches and critical updates since SP 2, and they haven't stopped supporting XP.

An alternative to dealing with Microsoft has been to use Autopatcher; however, it's in limbo because Microsoft demanded that it be taken down. It's being reworked into a form that will allow you to select, at one go, the patches you want from MS' site and then tell it to install them all. The developers aren't certain when, but are optimistic that it will be soon.

So am I. I hate dealing with M$, and their patches are egregiously nasty.
