Name that tune (because I can't)......

Last month, there were two commercials for the Honda Odyssey van. Both featured people encountered their past 18-year-old selves -- one was a guy, the other was a girl. And both featured bouncy techno-synth music from the '80s, probably by the same performer or band.

I've heard the music many times when I was out clubbing in those days, but I never found out who did the songs. (I want to say Yaz, or Yellow, or (gulp) Yanni.) Nor did I ever find out what those songs are named. One's in B minor, the other's in D (pentatonic scale, I think).

Someone please help!

Okay you inspired me to search :).

I found two mentions that one of them (probably the one with the woman) is Yaz with "Don't Go".

I saw another saying that the song is Yaz doing "Situation". I'm not sure if this is another guess on that first song or if it is for the commercial with the guy.

Thanks for coming through on this. I don't know which song is which, but they're both catchy. If I was to assemble a CD of 80s dance club music, both of them would be on there. (This will be a future LJ entry of mine.)

Looks like I'll have to either download a sound clip to know which song is "Don't Go" and which song is "Situation", or listen to (or buy) their CD "Upstairs At Eric's". Yet another excuse to go spend money on CDs. :-)
