I completed my week-long Access database enhancement project this afternoon. Even though my customer found two bugs after the QA testing and rollout, I was able to fix them quickly.

Even though I don't consider myself an expect in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), I can read the code and get the gist of what's going on. (If it's written correctly, Visual Basic is self-documenting code.) But if I have to write code, I'll need some type of reference manual to look up all the various classes, methods, and properties that are available to me. This is what tells me that I'm not an expert at Visual Basic; if I was, I wouldn't need to look at the reference manual.

Bottom line: I have a happy and satisfied client. Hopefully in a few months, they'll have a nice long wish list for me or someone else to work on.

And my computer is working again. Yesterday, I opened up the case, looked around, and noticed that the power cord to the Zip drive was unplugged. I plugged it back in, verified all the power and data connections, turned it on....and it booted. So far, I've partitioned and formatted the new hard drive, and transferred the data from the old hard drive to the new one. I'll have to reinstall some of the applications since my system partition (my C "drive") didn't copy all the files. I've reinstalled most of the drivers.
